This backyard retreat was developed from an existing landscape. The focus of the design was to create a semi-private space without obstructing the views onto the golf course. A fire pit with a seat wall was created to use for family gatherings throughout the year.
This project was based on a Japanese garden theme. The entry area included a new paver driveway bordered by stacked walls and a paver walkway to the front door. A tea house was incorporated into the design as well as an open sitting area to enjoy the views. A bridge carries you over a natural stream with boulder outcropping accents. The landscape architect was Edsall and Asssociates.
The design of this outdoor living space reflects the lifestyles of the owner and was intended to compliment the architecture of the home. A porch, gazebo, and patio were constructed to allow the residents to enjoy the landscape in all types of weather. A gas fire pit extends the use of the gazebo into the cooler seasons. Shade trees, ceiling fans, and a mist system make the outdoor space comfortable during the warmer seasons. Lighting accentuated the landscape and hardscape of the living area into the evening hours.
