Commercial Maintenance Landscape Crew Leader
This position reports to: Division Manager and/or Account Manager

 

Position Summary: With the guidance of the Division Manager and Account Manager, the Crew Leader oversees the efficient operation and completion of Commercial Maintenance business while operating within the budget guidelines. Works in cooperation with Division Manager and Account Manager to insure quality customer satisfaction.

 

Position Requirements: An associate’s degree or bachelor's degree in Horticulture or Turf Management and/or at least 3 years experience as a crew laborer preferred. Must have basic knowledge of turf management, pesticide application and plant materials. Have a valid driver's license and be able to drive large trucks. Candidate must have the ability to operate heavy equipment.

 

Accountability: Responsible for maintaining the property of the assigned accounts according to PLC standard operating procedures. Provide work direction and supervision of Crew Laborers. Responsible for vehicle operation, equipment operation and adherence to PLC established safety procedures.

 

Position Responsibilities:

- Hire, train and manage all personnel assigned to your crew.

- Coordinate daily work schedule with Account Manager.

- Obtain from Account Manager all pertinent paperwork and job files prior to starting any new jobs.

- Complete all daily paperwork i.e. timesheets, T&M tickets, field reports, accident reports and any other applicable paperwork by the end of each days work.

- Maintain tool inventory of all tools assigned to crew, turn in any broken tools to Account Manager for replacement. (Tools will not be replaced at company cost without broken tool being turned in)

- Manage all equipment assigned to crew, which includes greasing, cleaning, fluid checks, blade sharpening and monitoring P.M. needs.

- Conduct all safety tailgate meetings as prescribed by the safety director, turn in all attendance sheets each week.

- Enforce and support all company policies and procedures at all times.

- Oversee daily job site quality control.

- Prepare and plan the next day’s work.

- Ensure trucks and equipment are fueled, loaded and ready for the next days work prior to leaving at the end of the day.

- Communicate on a daily basis with property managers or their representatives.

- Assist Account Managers and Enhancement Managers with the selling of extras.

- Complete any additional duties or assignments as directed by Division or Corporate Managers.
